Dear Parents and Members, Welcome to the 2025 soccer season! We are glad to have you at Strandfontein AFC and hope this year brings us lots of success on and off the field.

Soccer is the most widely played team game in the world and we’re excited to start off the pre-season partaking in this beautiful game. Soccer teaches us the principals of teamwork and good sportsmanship which is important in life and most of all, it’s a lot of fun.

Kindly be advised that the soccer season runs from April to October. We will announce the official start of the league once the LFA has confirmed the date. We will provide you with all the necessary information timeously (e.g. game fixtures, dates and times as well as the venue).

Parents, please help us set a good example and be a positive role model, from which many of our young men and women learn behaviours that they will carry with them into adulthood. Your co-operation, your respect for the coaches and Club Officials as well as having maturity among other parents and friends will encourage those qualities in the players as well.

Please keep the fields clean and not litter. Remind your family and friends to pick up their bottles and papers when they leave. Please consider the weather when dressing the players.

Training kits are available for purchase on the webstore at www.strandfonteinafc.co.za. Players to wear shin guards at training as well as games. White socks must be worn on game days. Socks are also available for purchase on the webstore at R80 for small and R100 for medium and large.

The club will provide a playing kit on game days. Please ensure that the playing kits are returned to the coach/manager at the end of the game(s). Kindly remember that gear fee of R20 must be paid in order for your coach to pay the referees and usage of the fields.

We would like to remind parents that if your child is sick or unable to attend practice or a game, please let the coach know as soon as possible. Coaches lay out their team on Thursdays after training or on Fridays. The earlier you advise the coach that the player is not available, the better as this will allow the coach to adjust his/her plans accordingly and ensure that the rest of the team is prepared.

We further draw your attention to the Parent Handbook which has been included hereinunder. Please read the document and adhere to what is required. A Parent Meeting will be arranged after the month of Ramadaan. We will advise the coaches who will in turn inform you accordingly.

If you feel you want to be involved in the club on a volunteer basis, please email the club secretary at secretaryobfsctd-594734@strandfonteinafc.co.za.

You may volunteer to coach, volunteer to be an assistant coach or become a referee. We are all volunteers and do this for the kids and the community. As we are a Community Club, we would like to implement a change this year and have the entire club participate in community work (picking up litter in and around Strandfontein, painting walls covered in graffiti and also have a food drive, etc.).

We are asking your help to assist where you can. If you have any potential sponsors who can come on board to assist the club, please do not hesitate to contact the Club Secretary.

We are further in search for the following:

  • First aiders
  • Bookkeeper
  • Accountant
  • Businesses which can sponsor the club whether it be monetary or in kind.

If you have any questions or concerns throughout the season, please do not hesitate to contact us via email – secretaryobfsctd-2ceae1@strandfonteinafc.co.za. We are committed to open communication and are always happy to discuss any issues or concerns that may arise,

 Yours in Sports,

The Executive Committee
